Feeding from His word

Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures. Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God. For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. Proverbs 2:3-7

From the text, God wants you to desire true wisdom that only comes from Him. He describes that the wisdom that comes from God is like a treasure that is so valuable. For in it, you will discover the will of God and how to live the life He wants you to have. Christianity is not about feeling good or to have an emotionally driven experience that changes all the time. Christianity is about living the life of Christ in you that will help you face the daily challenges no matter what your mood or your feelings are. It is dependence on Jesus that you trusted your life with. This is why it is important that you seek out what pleases and honors Him. Your life now belongs to Him. “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies” (1 Corinthians 19-20). The challenge now is to gain wisdom so that you could live your life that honors Him. God promised that He will grant you the wisdom that you need. This wisdom comes from His mouth. The Bible was given so that you will hear Him speak. So it is important that you regularly read and listen to His word. When the Israelites were freed from slavery in Egypt and was brought to the wilderness, it was God’s presence that sustained them. Then when they were about to enter the Promised Land, God through Moses told them how they should live their new life. “...man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord” (Deuteronomy 8:3). This is what Jesus told Satan when Satan was tempting Him after He fasted for forty days and forty nights (see Matthew 4:4). So do not neglect the spiritual nourishment your life needs by neglecting feeding yourself with the word of God. God knows how important it is for you to live having the wisdom that comes only by spending time with Him in His word.

Blessings.
