God's unfailing love
Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture! But when the time of perfection comes, these partial things will become useless. When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely. 1 Corinthians 13:8-12
With God, failure is not an option. As the Scripture described God’s love, it never fails. From the text, the apostle Paul made a statement about God’s promise. Every thing, in time such as prophecies, tongues, and knowledge will cease but God’s love will never cease. As learned from previous devotional, God’s love will never fail because God’s love is forever and His love is eternal. His love for you has always been the same since the beginning. There will never be a time when God will not love you. This is true even when you are going through the most difficult circumstance that you could ever be. God’s love will never be stopped and hindered by such circumstance. When you feel overwhelmed by the trials you are going through, do not lose sight of His love for you. Instead of being afraid, pray as David prayed. “Why do you boast in evil, O mighty man? The lovingkindness of God endures all day long” (Psalm 52:1, NASB). Prophet Jeremiah reminded the people of Israel to remain strong in their trust to God by telling them about the love of God. “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself” (Jeremiah 31:3). When you are gripped with anxiety because of the challenges you are facing in life, always believe that nothing in this world could separate you from the love of God. “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39). The amazing, indescribable, eternal love of God will never cease and will never fail.
Blessings.
