This is the day the Lord has made

When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers—the moon and the stars you set in place—what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them? Psalm 8:3-4

There are many aspects about God that man is not capable of understanding. There are truths about God that are just beyond human comprehension. There are those that one could easily realize about God’s character because He wants individual to know Him by those qualities. These attributes are His way of expressing how much He cares. These include His mercy, kindness, goodness, grace, and love. The ones that are beyond comprehension include God being infinite. God used the title Alpha and Omega several times to describe that He is eternal (see Revelation 1:8, 21:6, 22:13). God is omnipotent or all-powerful, omnipresent or all-present, and omniscient or all-knowing. Yet, despite the fact that man cannot fully comprehend the character of God still He made it possible that He would be able to communicate to people certain aspects of His attributes. This is what the Psalmist was describing from the text. God is mindful of everything that is taking place in your life. You may not feel worthy of such loving attention from God, yet that is the reality that you will be confronted with. He already has drawn the days of your life even before you were born. “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it” (Psalm 139:13-14). Once you accept the truth of how much God is interested in your life, this is what will provide meaning and purpose in life. The appropriate response is to humble oneself and worship Him. Each and every day is a gift from God. He has ordained each day for you so you could live your life honoring Him. Always remind yourself that He is there with you and you are taking part in His eternal glorious plan. Instead of being overcome with worries for the day and the uncertainties of life, why don’t you trust the One who has ordained everything according to His plan? “You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed” (Psalm 139:16). God has something in store for you today so let Him lead and guide you. “This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24).

Blessings,
