Trusting His judgment

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Proverbs 3:5-7

Every human being who is in their proper mind will seek out the purpose and meaning of their existence in this world. Not to discover one’s purpose in life could lead to despair. Once hope is taken away, the will to live can disappear. This is why it is important that we find the meaning of life. This is what King Solomon was referring to in the Book of Proverbs. He had everything a man could hope for to have in life. He was rich, intelligent, and when one looks at his life you could easily conclude that he must be happy. Yet, in the midst of all he had in life he said, “Everything is meaningless,” says the Teacher, “completely meaningless!” (Ecclesiastes 1:2). Those were not the words of a fulfilled person. In his despair, he discovered where to find the meaning of life. He concluded, “Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty. God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad” (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14). His conclusion may sound harsh especially when he talked about God’s judgment but in reality when you allow God’s judgment prevail in your life, it brings about meaning and purpose. God examines our path for He cares on where we are heading. “For the Lord sees clearly what a man does, examining every path he takes” (Proverbs 5:21). There is never a moment in your life that God has no full view of your ways for He cares about you. So when you ignore His leading in your life, His correction is His way of reminding you to take the path He is presenting before you. Your life is not insignificant that any set of actions you take there is corresponding reaction and repercussion. God loves you and cares for you that He wants you to depend on Him to lead you to the path that He wills for your life. “Trust Him with all your heart and do not depend on your understanding.”

Blessings,
