Immeasurable love of God

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:35-39 As God promised in His word to those that placed their trust in Him, there is nothing in this world that you could ever experience that could ever separate you from the love of God. No matter how awful or distressing, there is no trial and grief you might ever suffer could be so powerful that can change God’s love for you. God’s love does not change; it is always stable and strong. No matter what persecution comes our way because of our faith in Him, nothing could be so painful that God’s love cannot bring comfort. Financial struggles might lead in not meeting material needs, yet we will never be deprived from the Father’s love. Death itself is powerless in stealing from us the assurance of our heavenly Father’s immeasurable love. If your view of God’s love varies and dependent on the intensity of the circumstances you are dealing with, you will become unsettled. There may come a time in your life that you will ask God why He allowed you to go through difficult circumstances and you will grapple for answers from His Word. When God promised that nothing can separate you from His love, He did not say that you will be free from facing hardship, persecution, poverty, or danger. Our Lord Jesus Christ is assured and secured of Father’s love to Him and yet He knows that part of His experience on this earth is to go through difficult circumstances even death on the cross. By focusing on Christ’s death on the cross, every believer’s doubt about God’s love should be wiped away. Have confidence to what He said to His word that nothing can separate us from His love. Realize and be assured that we are not alone dealing with tribulations for God’s presence is with us. So do not doubt God’s love just because you are going through tribulation. Corrie Ten Boom experienced a horrible condition while imprisoned in Nazi holocaust camp yet what kept her strong is the assurance of God’s love. She said, “There is no pit so deep, that’s God’s love is not deeper still.” In the midst of your difficult circumstances, have the assurance that God’s love is in you.
