A new day coming
And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” And he also said, “It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life. All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children. Revelation 21:5-7
Right now we are surrounded by moral decay and how we long to experience that a new day will dawn and will usher in the promise of God where He will make everything new again. Paul expressed why every believer longs to experience the fulfillment of Christ’s promise when He comes. “For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time” (Romans 8:22). This longing is also what Peter wrote about. The fulfillment of God’s promise should inspire every believer live their lives for God. “But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world filled with God’s righteousness” (2 Peter 3:13). There will be new dwelling prepared by Christ Himself. “There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?” (John 14:2). All the old and decaying things will be completely and for eternity gone. The things that cause one to experience pain and hurt will also be eliminated forever. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever” (Revelation 21:4). Then from the text, John in his vision was ushered in to the most beautiful part of heaven to behold the sight of the Lord Jesus Christ among His people that will be with Him for eternity. All the old order of things where sin and death had prevailed was no longer to be experienced. While waiting for the fulfillment of His promise, live out your life committed to the new nature He provided for you when you surrendered your life to Him. Remember the covenant you established with Him through His sacrifice for you at the cross. “You have come to Jesus, the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people” (Hebrews 12:24). Therefore, “anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” Each day live the new life through faith in Christ.
