Diligently seek God
I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!” The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him. Lamentations 3:24-25
In the midst of everything giving way, the presence of Gob is an anchor to the soul. From the text, Jeremiah finds God as his portion as He was to the psalmist’s; “Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing” (Psalms 16:5). That gives a believer fresh spiritual hope. Jeremiah reflects on the Lord’s goodness to deliver those who trust and seek Him. Braced by such consolation, a person can submit patiently to God for He is in control. The one who has grown in patience has this encouragement as its meditation: the Lord will not reject forever, for after grief He assures compassion. So, don’t just express your commitment to God but prove such through your actions. When you say that you are seeking Him diligently pour out your heart and then deliberately be quiet. Simply and silently wait before your faithful God. Read a passage of Scripture and let it speak. Let Him talk. Let Him reassure you that you are fully and completely forgiven and that your shame is gone. Feel His arms around you. Understand the cleansing that He's bringing. Feel again the freshness and relief of His presence. God will give you a fresh start if you'll stop fighting the urge to depend on yourself. “The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him.”
