God loved and He gave

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. John 3:16-18 NIV

God loved and He gave His One and only Son (John 3:16). Jesus is God’s Son in a unique way. He is divine, He existed from eternity, yet He became flesh on earth. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1)...” The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14). People who accept Him may also become children of God; “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12). The Son of Man descends from Heaven (John 3:13). Jesus had earlier identified himself as the communicating channel between Heaven and earth (see John 1:51). Then the Son of Man must be “lifted up” (John 3:14). Later, Jesus used this language again, and the meaning of it is indicated: “He said this to show the kind of death he was going to die” (John 12:32, 33). The sinner must look in belief to Jesus and His atoning gift. Why has God done this? The answer is simple. God loves you so. This is one of those instances where the intelligence of man is not adequate. Mankind cannot reason his way to create the love of God and the gift of His Son. Only through God’s revealing himself can we be assured of this love. Accepting this in belief adds another dimension to the life of man when he finds true life as a child of God. We cannot reason our way to God the Creator for we need to trust His revelation from His birth so we can know of God the Redeemer.

God loves you. This is a message God wants to deliver through Jesus Christ that Christmas morn.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Blessings,
