No other God
First I predicted your rescue, then I saved you and proclaimed it to the world.
No foreign god has ever done this. You are witnesses that I am the only God,” says the Lord. “From eternity to eternity I am God. No one can snatch anyone out of my hand...I am the Lord, your Holy One, Israel’s Creator and King. Isaiah 43:12-15 NLT
God already has proven Himself worthy of worship for He delivered the Israelites. He wants all those who experienced the goodness of God to proclaim the salvation He gave those that trusted Him. Once we experience who God is, we will never be the same. We are witnesses of His goodness when He saved us. As His witnesses, we make known to others that God’s goodness alone will satisfy humanity’s longings. He intervenes in our lives for He wants to save us. His intervention is ongoing. The living God came down so that the Hebrews will be freed from Egyptian bondage. He came to rescue them so that they will be brought to the Promised Land. The same living God comes down into our bondage today and He wants us be released from the power of sin. This is what should matter to us, not because of what we deserve but because of who God is. Because of His love, He pursues us. Not because we are a big deal or meritorious, it is just who He is. He wants to be our Redeemer and our Savior. As God takes us as His own, He also takes His responsibility by keeping us safe in His hands. “From eternity to eternity I am God. No one can snatch anyone out of my hand.” Let us recognize that He is the Holy One, Creator and King. He wants us to live the life He gave us as His children proclaiming His goodness. He is the Creator God, the source of life, the purpose of life, the future of life. He is the divine Son of God, the Savior of the world. “For you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light” (1 Peter 2:9).
Blessings,
