Our God is the powerful Lord
Then you will know that I am the Lord. Those who trust in me will never be put to shame.” Who can snatch the plunder of war from the hands of a warrior? Who can demand that a tyrant let his captives go? But the Lord says, “The captives of warriors will be released, and the plunder of tyrants will be retrieved. For I will fight those who fight you, and I will save your children. I will feed your enemies with their own flesh. They will be drunk with rivers of their own blood. All the world will know that I, the Lord, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Israel. Isaiah 49:23-26 NLT
The Lord’s authority and integrity are irreproachable. “Then you will know that I am the Lord.” As Isaiah pointed out from the text, there will be those that will know the Lord because He has gathered them out of their dispersion from exile in Babylon. But those who put their hope in the Lord in the absence of difficult circumstances will be glad they did so. Whether we are in favorable circumstances or not, God wants us to trust Him. The word of God is going out in many places in the world in these times of uncertainties. The expansion of God’s kingdom is taking place through Christian missions. This will accelerate as history draws to a close to usher in the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Broken relationships will be mended and healed, walls of division will be broken down, and new members in the family will be brought in to new bonds of spiritual affection. All these will happen because people responded to the gospel message trusting the Lord as Savior and Redeemer. Those who oppose and rejected the offer of salvation will be consumed in the end. The victory will be wildly seen for the Savior will finally put an end to the long-standing persecutions. God’s people will no longer be demoralized because God’s promises of grace will be realized. Have you placed your trust to God? Our God is the powerful Lord.
