Trusting God that He will provide

“When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth, that is all the reward they will ever get. But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you. “When you pray, don’t babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!" Matthew 6:5-8

People in this time feel jittery because of the economic outlook. Couple this with terrorists’ threats and wars going on in several countries point to the uncertainties of the coming days. Christians can feel so rattled about these gloomy outlooks about the future. Well, you can cry out to God in desperation especially when you are directly affected by difficult circumstances. Yet, Jesus reminded His disciples as well as those in the present times that you could find assurance and relief that God knows what you are facing. He told His disciples that even before they come to Him to pray, He already knows “even before you ask him.” From this teaching of Jesus, He expects His children to call on Him through prayer and have the assurance that He listens. Though God knew and heard all the prayers people could bring to His throne of grace, still He has the patience to listen to each of His children. It is because of the loving relationship that He has for His children that He will take the time to be on your side when you pray. His relationship with you makes a great difference when you find yourself in need of God’s help. All He wants from you is to come humbly before Him and with sincere heart bring to Him your cares and concerns. Instead of fretting, come to Him in prayer. “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7). No matter how small or grave your circumstance you can turn to God for help.

Blessings.
