Trust in the Lord always
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock. He humbles the proud and brings down the arrogant city. Isaiah 26:3-5
Depending on ourselves can lead to disaster and misery. When we become burdened with something and carry it personally rather than trusting God with those burdens, we realize that we can’t. We are overwhelmed by what is upon us. This only results to unrest and misery. Yet when we place our trust and dependence upon God, just like what Isaiah says from the text, God keeps us “in perfect peace. This happens only to those “whose thoughts are fixed on you {God}”! Our load lightens and our resolve to continue on is strengthened. Dependence upon God will change perspectives in life. Our attitude towards life rises to a higher level. Looking up to God will always lift us up from misery. God wants us to trust Him with our burdens. “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light” (Matthew 11:28-30). Whatever difficulties we are facing, let us realize that God is able. Meet with Him in your time of worship. Focus on God and ask Him to help you be dependent upon Him daily. Always start the day having God in your mind. Always long for God’s presence as you live your life each day. “Lord, we show our trust in you by obeying your laws; our heart’s desire is to glorify your name. In the night I search for you; in the morning I earnestly seek you” (Isaiah 26:8-9).
