The ministry of reconciliation
So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now! This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:16-19
God through Jesus Christ has reconciled man back to Himself. Jesus Christ did this when He came to this world to give Himself to die on the cross for the forgiveness of sin. Once you recognized your need of God’s forgiveness and you acknowledge Him in your life as your Lord and Savior, His love now controls you. “Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life” (2 Cor. 5:14). You no longer live for selfish desires but to have your life lived for His glory. God wants people of every age at any time to realize that they are sinners and needed to be reconciled with Him. From the text, the apostle Paul urged Christians to understand that they should take part in the “ministry of reconciliation.” This is what every believer has to do for this ministry comes from God. “And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him” (v. 18). You are where you are right now so you could take part in reconciling those who need God in their life. Wherever you are, you will always be surrounded with people that have no sense of security, low self-esteem, or no sense of worth. On the surface, they pretend that they are self-sufficient, they can do anything what they want, and they do not feel the need of having God in their life. But once they confront their reality and the emptiness they have in their lives, they will realize that God came to love them and that He alone can fill their emptiness. So He entrusted you with the message of reconciliation. He sends you so you could be where you are right now so that those who need Christ will hear from you about Him and what He did for you when He made you right with God. “God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ” (2 Cor. 5:21). This is what you are here for in this world; to tell others the message of reconciliation.
Blessings.
