God is here with me
“Am I only a God nearby, declares the Lord, and not a God far away? Can anyone hide in secret places so that I cannot see him?’ declares the Lord. ’Do I not fill heaven and earth?’ declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 23:23-24 Man’s finite mind won’t fully comprehend the truth, but it is true; God is fully present everywhere. As Jeremiah said from the text, “He fills the heavens and the earth.” However, this does not mean that God is to be identified with His creation; that God and His creation are one This is the false philosophy called pantheism and it teaches that God is merely an impersonal force, or the forces of laws of nature. God is not some impersonal force but a personal being. God is a personal being and He is distinctive from His creation. He is supreme over all His creation and yet He is present in every part of His creation. As difficult as that might be to comprehend but that is what prompts Him to have a relationship with man. God created you so He could have a relationship with you. This is why when one comes to know Him as Lord and Savior, man’s perspective of who God is changes. This is what Paul alluded to when he said, “At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now! This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person” (2 Corinthians 5:16-17). God’s life is in you and it becomes also your life. So when life is hard, you are able to hang in there. “Therefore, since God in his mercy has given us this new way, we never give up” (2 Corinthians 4:1). God’s strength is in you for His light shines His glory within and removes the darkness so you could remain strong even when life is difficult. “For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:6). It is God alone, the only One who can save you, Who keeps you, and Who guides you. Don’t forget to trust Him and to let Him have the control of your life. Once you do, you will always be in the sight of God and He will see you through. “We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies” (2 Corinthians 4:8-10).
