God’s offer of redemption

Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he created the universe. The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven. Hebrews 1:1-3

From the text, the author expresses his recognition of the greatness of God. The Lord Jesus Christ is the manifestation of the glory of the Father. It was through the sacrifice of Christ done at the cross that made it possible for those that believed and trusted Him to be cleansed from their sins. He is the one that sustains this world and by His word everything came out into existence. “For through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see—such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together” (Colossians 1:16-17). It is through Christ that each day of your life you experience the goodness of God. He is the one that initiated invitation for people to trust Him and to receive His offer of redemption. “God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ” (Ephesians 1:5). Probably, you realized how important it is to accept God’s offer of relationship. How difficult it is to suffer from rejection, abandonment, and to be pushed away. Yet in Christ God stretch out His hands wide open so He could embrace those who are willing to receive Him in their lives. The Apostle Paul being grateful to what God has done blurted out with praise and continually meditated on the goodness of God. “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ” (Ephesians 1:3). God is thinking about you even before He created this world. It cost God a great price so He could execute His plan so that in Christ you will receive the forgiveness of sin. No wonder why those who trusted Him as Lord and Savior can’t help themselves but express to Him how grateful they are for what He has done. They begin each day by praising Him and expressions of gratitude for the love they receive from Him. No matter what difficulties you are dealing with in life, as Paul told the Christians in Collossae, do not waver in your faith in God. “But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News” (Colossians 1:23).

Blessings,
