God uses our life messages

But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold. For I have stayed on God’s paths; I have followed his ways and not turned aside. I have not departed from his commands, but have treasured his words more than daily food. But once he has made his decision, who can change his mind? Whatever he wants to do, he does. So he will do to me whatever he has planned. He controls my destiny. Job 23:10-14

You were invited to a dinner in a fancy restaurant. Table was set with linens, dining set is all fine china, and crystal glasses. The waiter was wearing elegant clothing and came to your table delivered the plates with all the garnishes. Your appetite was now prepared for the main course. Then another waiter came with the main dish. Plate was covered with a dish cover. As soon as you remove the cover, in the middle of the plate was a single piece of marshmallow. You were anticipating a sumptuous meal of juicy steak instead you were left with a puffy piece of sugar with no good filling nutritional value. If we are not careful with our Christian life, this is what could happen. Our Christian walk will be disappointing if we tend to be careless and will not be fully committed to the life God gave us. Instead of others finding our message hopeful because of our confidence in Christ, what we offer is just an inflated artificial sweetness with no nourishing satisfaction to provide. God came to provide meaning and purpose in life. He wants our lives to make an impact to others that when they observe us and the joy we have, they will desire such life and seek out God. Job, from the text, despite the circumstances he was facing knew that he will come out strong and transformed. He made a resolve to not deviate from God’s plan for his life and would welcome everything God sends on his way. God is building a valuable message through our daily experiences that will benefit others. He uses our lives to bring a message of hope for others and He does this even with the trials we our dealing with. When we are going through difficulties in life, we look for people who have gone through the same experiences. Like gold, God is polishing and removing all our rough edges using difficulties so that in time He could use our life messages to provide hope for others. Just like Job let us find God’s methods of transforming us opportunities for growth and by meditating on His word, we can be assured that “all things will work together for good for those who love God and are called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).
