To be in God’s will

Always be joyful. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. Do not stifle the Holy Spirit. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-19 Christians are often perplexed in understanding what the will of God is. From the text, God gives us admonition that pertains to our daily living as we live out our lives following His will. His instructions in these passages provide us principles on how we can live our lives for His glory. It is God’s will that we rejoice no matter what our circumstance is. Our joy is not dependent on the suffering we are going through but in the knowledge that whatever we are facing God is with us. We can rejoice in the midst of trials for we know we can come to God always in prayer. We always pray for we want to experience God’s presence in our lives. Then it is God’s will that we be thankful in times of prosperity as well as in times of adversity. We believe that no matter what we are going through in life, “all things will work for good” (Romans 8:28). It is the Holy Spirit living in us that will help us live in accordance with God’s will that is why we do not stifle His presence in us. Living in God’s purpose will always run counter to our human nature. But praise God, He provided for us His Spirit so we could be on our way following His will for our lives. We are capable of choosing to be joyful always, offering unceasing prayers, and thankful in all circumstance for we are committed to Him and will be obedient to His command.

Blessings,
