God is more than enough

And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 Paul commended the church at Philippi because God had blessed him through their generosity. This is despite the fact that these Christians do not have much, yet they were willing to share. He responded to their generosity by encouraging them that God will supply their needs as well. Every believer has their own needs in life. At times, the needs are beyond their own means. These needs that are not met could lead to anxiety or feeling of defeat. God wants us to always come to Him with our needs. God’s provision is always adequate. Because of this assurance, the Psalmist declared, “And so I walk in the Lord’s presence as I live here on earth!” (Psalm 116:9). We can come to Him in prayer for He hears our cry of despair. “The Lord hears the needy” (Psalm 69:33). God knows our needs this is why He commands us to come to His throne of grace. “So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most” (Hebrews 4:16). Despite the presence of great needs in your life, there are moments that you find it difficult to bring them to God in prayer. God wants you to come to His throne of grace and if you do not know how, ask Him to teach you how to pray. “One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray” (Luke 11:1). You knew that you have a pressing need to bring to Him in prayer but you lack the wisdom on how and what to ask God. The Holy Spirit will help you in those times when words are difficult to find as you express your prayers. It is at this time, the Apostle Paul said, that the Spirit of God within you voices, without words, your request to the Father. “And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will” (Romans 8:26-27). When God is all you have, you have more than enough.

Blessings,
