Let God’s will prevail

Get all the advice and instruction you can, so you will be wise the rest of your life. You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail. Proverbs 19:20-21

There is a powerful influence that works within the minds of the people who will justify their actions when they are against the will of God. No matter what you know about God and His word, if your actions are contrary to His plans then you are not properly appropriating the life and the righteousness He gave you. If we must learn any lesson in life it should be the realization that God is God and His Word is unfailing. The prince of this world will always be in opposition to God’s plans. He is in enmity with God and his main cause is to sway us and influence our minds into the thinking that we are supreme and could make sensible decisions without God’s guidance. Probably you’ve got into difficult situation and your dreams got derailed. Then you start to wonder if it is still worth it to trust God and His promises found in His word. When Mary was told that she will give birth to Jesus, she was confused and distressed. “Mary asked the angel, “But how can this happen?” (Luke 1:34). Then when Joseph found out that Mary was pregnant and they were not married yet, he thought of not going through with the marriage. “Joseph, to whom she was engaged, was a righteous man and did not want to disgrace her publicly, so he decided to break the engagement quietly” (Matthew 1:19). In both instances, God has to assure them that what was about to take place were part of the fulfillment of God’s promises from His word. When we go through tremendous pressures in life, we tend to doubt if God could provide us peace and that He will be with us. Let us ask God to cleanse and forgive us from our sin and let us look back in the past how He has been faithful fulfilling His promises. Do not think that God is so slow fulfilling His plans. He is the God of eternity and He already had planned out everything from beginning to the end and in His time will fulfill His purposes. “But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman” (Galatians 4:4).
