Telling others the triumph of God’s grace
In that wonderful day you will sing: “Thank the Lord! Praise his name! Tell the nations what he has done. Let them know how mighty he is! Sing to the Lord, for he has done wonderful things. Make known his praise around the world. Let all the people of Jerusalem shout his praise with joy! For great is the Holy One of Israel who lives among you.” Isaiah 12:4-6
What empowers our testimony is our inexpressible joy because of God working within us. His presence in our lives floods our hearts with joy. This is why we start to tell others about what He has done. Christianity is not primarily about being in control but the overflowing fullness of God’s grace. Our personal experience of God filling our lives becomes a corporate witness. Each of us has a story to tell and together we join our hearts praising and glorifying the Lord. “I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of mighty ocean waves or the rolling of loud thunder. It was like the sound of many harpists playing together. This great choir sang a wonderful new song in front of the throne of God” (Revelation 14:2-3). One day, we will be a part of this great sound not yet heard. There is one message spreading over the world and that is to exalt the truth about God. As His people, we are called upon to awaken others to the infinite greatness and majesty of God revealed in His word and saving deeds. We need to embrace this mission for in this way we exalt His name greatly. The Lord Jesus Christ prayed for the disciples; “In this world ...they would be filled with my joy” (John 17:13). Paul describes this experience as the essence of Christianity; “For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Romans 14:17). God is our source of all satisfaction. He is everything to the discerning believer. Who God is, His greatness, and what He did for us should provide us great comfort now and evermore.
Blessings,
