From the text, it was mentioned that every tribe of Israel was enriched with its share of having Levites in their tribe. The Levites were among them to remind the Israelites that they are called by God to be a blessing to other nations. They are to show kindness to the Levites; “And be very careful never to neglect the Levites as long as you live in your land” (Deuteronomy 12:19 also 14:29). God chose the Levites among the Israelites to remind the people of His faithfulness and that they should recognize His presence among them. Since the Levites were among them, they do not have to go to Shiloh to receive spiritual instructions. Instead they are to go to the designated land were the Levites were assigned living among them. Their presence among them should remind the Israelites of their testimony as God’s people. The people who are receiving instructions through the Levites are expected to live by those godly principles and should always keep the charge of the Lord. The instructions should also serve as filters so that the Israelites could use to sift through false teachings that could lead them to idolatrous practices. The Levites are to teach the people knowledge that will guide them in the things of God. God is the one calling a group of people that He will use to bless the people. God continues to do this so that there will be those that will serve their generation. “The Lord remembers us and will bless us. He will bless the people of Israel and bless the priests, the descendants of Aaron. He will bless those who fear the Lord, both great and lowly. May the Lord richly bless both you and your children” (Psalm 115:12-14). It is important that the Lord’s commands be carried out diligently so that there will be unity among God’s people. Let us encourage those that are serving God providing us instructions from God’s word.
