Obedience results to worship
Obedience results to worship
This means that all of creation will be shaken and removed, so that only unshakable things will remain. Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe. For our God is a devouring fire. God’s grace that abounds. Hebrews 12:27-29 NLT
God’s word is final! In the day of His coming, His word will shake the whole universe. This is what God promised: “For this is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: In just a little while I will again shake the heavens and the earth, the oceans and the dry land. I will shake all the nations” (Haggai 2:6-7). This is the power of God’s word. It was by His word that the universe came forth. When everything will be in utter destruction by just mere word of God, it tells us that everything in this world is temporary. “Long ago you laid the foundation of the earth and made the heavens with your hands. They will perish, but you remain forever; they will wear out like old clothing. You will change them like a garment and discard them” (Psalm 102:25-26). Peter identified this event as the Day of the Lord. “But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment” (2 Peter 3:10). Just imagine the hundred thousand million galaxies will disintegrate when God’s word is uttered. Everything will be changed for there will be a blessed transformation.” Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband” (Revelation 21:1-2). Those who are obedient to God because they have trusted Him their Lord and Savior, will worship God. They will be thankful because God protected them from the eternal destruction. They will offer their true worship for they belong to a Kingdom that will not be shaken. True worship takes place when believers are filled with awe and reverence when they realize that one day they will be in God’s presence for eternity. Our view of God as “devouring fire” (Hebrews 12:29), should result to obedience that will produce authentic worship. We who belong to the Kingdom of God should realize that our lives are meant to be offered in worship to God. When we realize the gift that God bestowed upon us obtained through the death of our Lord Jesus Christ at the cross, we can’t help but be thankful. "Thank God for this gift too wonderful for words! (2 Corinthians 9:15).
