The Lord is King!

But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses. And I charge you before God, who gives life to all, and before Christ Jesus, who gave a good testimony before Pontius Pilate, that you obey this command without wavering. Then no one can find fault with you from now until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again. For, At just the right time Christ will be revealed from heaven by the blessed and only almighty God, the King of all kings and Lord of all lords. 1 Timothy 6:11-15 NLT

As we reflect on the circumstances and events that had happened this year, some provide joy, others led to failures, but all in all we could still say that this soon to be past year is filled with blessings. If you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you can rejoice in the truth that you are personally related to the Lord God, who is King of all kings, Lord of all lords, and will reign forever. There will come a day when we shall see Him and begin to enjoy His eternal presence. Being assured that we belong to Him and that we are His children, such knowledge should bring about comfort and encouragement that we are under His tender care. “We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care” (Psalm 95:7). Let us continue to live our lives reflecting upon His goodness and greatness. In humility, let us follow His will. Let us run away from the things of the world, instead let us “Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness” (1 Timothy 6:11b). Let us stand up for the biblical principles that we have grown to live by and “Fight the good fight for the true faith” (v. 12). Let us do this from here on until eternity obeying His command “without wavering” (v. 14). We have an immense calling for we are serving a far greater God who will come again “For, at just the right time Christ will be revealed from heaven by the blessed and only almighty God, the King of all kings and Lord of all lords” (v. 15). Let us accept His call knowing that He is there to enable us to do what He has called us to do.

“Fight the good fight with all thy might!

Christ is thy strength and Christ thy right;

Lay hold on life and it shall be

Thy joy and crown eternally.” (William Boyd, 1864)

May this New Year be filled by HIs love and HIs presence

Blessings,

Yorumlar
